Research Collaborations
Yale has a long tradition of first-class research in the sciences and humanities. Eighteen researchers with Yale ties have won the Nobel Prize, and 63 current and retired faculty are members of the National Academy of Sciences. A recent survey of America's top research universities conducted by the Institute for Scientific Information ranked Yale fourth in terms of the number of research papers cited by scientists worldwide.
The Office of Corporate Relations links corporations with Yale faculty and administrators in key areas of mutual research interest. Interactions occur in the form of grants, contracts, faculty consultations, internships and clinical trials. Corporate Relations also assists in the area of sponsored research together with the Office of Cooperative Research — which manages the University's intellectual assets and establishes commercial partnerships — and the Office of Grant and Contract Administration.
We assist in making additional resources of the University available to corporate supporters, such as: faculty consultations; executive education programs; participation in conferences, colloquia and symposia; the University's museums and libraries.
Research at Yale is carried on in the University's 12 schools and in Yale's many research groups.
Corporations sometimes partner with the University through sponsorships of academic activities such as symposia or colloquia; events or exhibits at Yale's numerous galleries, collections and libraries; the performing arts; and athletic events. Institutions that host such activities include:
- Yale Libraries
- Peabody Museum of Natural History
- Yale Center for British Art
- Yale University Art Gallery
- Yale Repertory Theatre
- Yale Symphony Orchestra
- Philharmonia Orchestra of Yale
- Digital Media Center for the Arts at Yale
- Yale Athletics
Many of the University's special events are posted in the Yale Bulletin & Calendar, which is available to the Yale community and the general public as well.
