Impact of Giving
Facilities
Over the centuries, gifts to build and renovate facilities have helped the Yale campus keep pace with the changing needs of faculty and students. From Connecticut Hall, the oldest structure on campus, to the new Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Library, Yale buildings owe their origin or their improvement to the generosity of donors. Now, assisted by gifts from alumni, parents, and friends, Yale is constructing two new residential colleges, while continuing with the phased renovation of the remaining twelve—Calhoun, Samuel Morse, and Ezra Stiles are next in line. The University is also rebuilding classrooms and laboratories, creating much-needed science buildings, expanding and modernizing arts facilities, refurbishing library spaces, and enhancing its athletic facilities.
